Time Flies

Yes, yes it does. I'm in second year? What? But I swear I just started university! It feels weird to be older than people now. I'm not sure why, but it does. Now I don't have an excuse for not knowing my way around, although, I've never actually had a problem with that.

Well, classes have now begun and frankly, I'm excited! Working with kids for the past 4 months full-time has just turned my brain to mush. The question of the day will no longer be, "Do you have to go potty?", or, "Here, let me wipe the snot off your face", for if I were to say that at school, I'm sure I'd get a few looks. Well, I had to go to the Academic Dean's office and get a few things straightened out since they switched one of my classes on me (Soc. 239, social inequality, the one I really really wanted!) so now I can't take that until next year and I have astronomy instead. haha yes I know, a bit of a difference, but I need a science credit to graduate, and this class has actually become the one I look forward to most, except for the fact that it is a 1st year class. That's kinda weird. I don't know why, but I've noticed their significant level of immaturity. But I'm sure all you who are ahead of me feel the same way about the people in my year.....so it all balances out...sorta. ANYways, my astronomy class is on Main, and I never really realized just how big the campus is until I had to find the building and parking, etc. Although I was quite disappointed at the size of the class because there is less people in it than in some of my classes at King's and I was a little curious as to know what it would be like to attend a larger class than the ones I am used to. And the building's not very nice either. Oh well. The professor is a little strange though. I noticed that when he's speaking to the class, he always looks as though he's looking out the windows at the back of the room and not the students. That bothers me a lot. But he knows what he's talking about nonetheless. There's a lot of work ahead of me for that one. 3 exams, 10 pop quizzes, readings, and 8 assignments. But that's okay. I get to stare at the sky and actually know what I'm looking at.....so there's a bonus. We were talking about scales yesterday and wow, I just can't rap my head around just how big the universe is. It's crazy! If I could post the pictures from my text I would because it's so mind boggling; very interesting, I must say.

One thing I'm excited about, for my religious studies class (101a, 102b) my text book is the Bible! I think that's cool 'cause if any of you have seen my house, we own at least 14 Bibles. BUT, the downside, well I shouldn't classify it as a downside, but I have to read pretty much the whole Old Testament in the next 4 months. You know how much reading that is on top of everything else?! Oh well. Maybe I'll learn something important that I never knew before, which is highly likely. But I'm looking forward to that class as well, especially since my prof. likes me from last year because I always participated in his class and actually knew something about religion, so that's decent.

I can't believe how much they charge for parking. It's ridiculous! I parked for a little over an hour and I had to pay $4.50. Stupid rip off. And I have class on Main 3 times a week. I think I'll take advantage of that "free" bus pass. Yes, I know that was random.

When I was walking to class yesterday morning from my van (I strategically parked 2 blocks down so that I could go over the time limit and not get charged.....like last year....hahaha I almost got away with parking in a 1 hour for 3 hours for a whole year, but then I got a ticket right at the end) there was this old lady lying on her front walkway bleeding. There were about 3 or 4 other people there helping, so I stopped and asked if everything was alright and they said that she tripped and fell; and since there were already people there I kept on going to class because I couldn't do anything else and it wouldn't be very nice to formulate a crowd. But the ambulance showed up and everything and when I passed her house on the way back to my van, there was blood all over her sidewalk. I hope she's okay.
